What is Crane Tower?
A tower crane is a type of machine that is used to lift, lower and move heavy or bulky construction materials around. Tower crane is a vital component in the construction of tall buildings, huge structures and complex projects. This device is made to control and guide heavy equipment at heights. Tower cranes must be carefully designed to perform at their best and be safe.
In short and generally, the tower crane or the construction and tower crane is one of the construction machines that is used in construction projects to lift and move equipment at heights, which can be lifted up to a certain height and In the past, for the construction of huge structures, especially at high altitudes, there were problems that made it impossible to do these things, and also lifting and moving construction materials and equipment required time and It was a lot of power and cost. For this reason, this device was first made using wood by the ancient Greeks, who could use the device with the power of workers and animals, which later became more advanced. And steel, cast iron, and iron were used for its construction.
Probably you have seen these types of devices in the city and during big buildings or towers, which are used to lift heavy objects. They transfer from the ground to the roof of the building and in addition, they have the ability to move objects up to 360 degrees.
These devices are a modern form of balance levers that are composed of the same main parts and usually their base is permanently placed in the concrete and sometimes it is restrained by a belt to the parts of the structure and building. They usually provide the best combination of height and lifting capacity and are widely used in the construction of dams, towers and high buildings.
Crane Tower Applications
Tower crane or construction crane has wide applications and in general, the work of this device is to move materials and guide heavy equipment in structures that are very high. Tower cranes are mainly used in the following cases: 1. Industries, power plants and factories 2. Residential, office and commercial constructions 3. High constructions 4. Dam construction >5. Bridging
Types of Crane Tower
Tower crane or tower crane has different types. Types of tower cranes include the following: 1. Hammerhead 2. Self-installing 3. Loafing pocket
4. Drake
Tower cranes are generally either fixed or mobile. The fixed construction crane is used daily, and the height increase and the possibility of moving the equipment in this device are limited. The mobile tower crane, however, has a wide range of functions that can be used in different parts of the project. The mobile tower crane itself is divided into three models: rail, road and floating, each of which has advantages and disadvantages. The rail tower crane moves on the rail, and the road tower crane is more like a crane and its dimensions are small. One of the advantages of the road tower crane is that it has a quick installation and its low carrying capacity is one of its disadvantages. The floating tower crane is another model of these devices that is used for the purpose of constructing oil mines and taking out sunken ships.
